the melting pot and a parking lot

Charlottesville is such a pretty and fun place! It has so many little cool bookstores, coffeeshops and an Urban WOOWOO. I went to the melting pot in the middle of Charlottesville yesterday with a group of awesome people, and it was so much fun! It was everything that everyone cracks it up to be. If you ever win a contest and get a huge discount on a party there, like we did ... you need jump on that opportunityand go. And don't wear flip flops. I was judged by the busboys and the guys in charge of taking our coats... because yes, they asked for my coat! weird. Here are some pictures of our day:

its important that you know that the picture with the guy at the booth is from the movie/documentary THE PARKING LOT. It was recently suggested by some friends, and it is imperative that you watch it as soon as you get the chance.

I hope that you are having the GREATEST day today!

even when things are insane.....

This is my prayer in the desert
When all that's within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides
This is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flame
I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here
This is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on it's way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I'll stand
I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here
All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship
I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon formed against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here
This is my prayer in the harvest
When favour and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be emptied again
The seed I've received I will sow

.... I am thankful.

phat (pretty hot and tempting.)

c

I decided to take up wreath-making this week. I think it was a pretty successful endeavor. I was inspired by Sherry Turley. All that you need is a shrinkwrapped straw wreath which is only about 2-5$.. (or if you're lucky you'll find one at a thriftstore like I did !!) scraps of leftover material, buttons, and HOT GLUE. the hottest of all glues.

WHILEST wreathing, I uploaded ,my itunes libe. Here are some things that, in my opinion, are a great idea for you and everyone else to download ASAP:
blue valentine soundtrack (i always think it is a better choice to have listened to the soundtrack prior to watching the movie.)
freelance whales
the new guster cd: easy wonderful.
group love : "don't say oh well"
laura marling: "new romantic"
lcd soundsystem- london sessions.
the morning benders
mosquito feet- come thou fount
said the whale

and always all thing leeland, eisley, and kate nash

sketchers

Today, I fell in love.
I know that there is a great chance some are going to judge me for what I am about to say. But thats a risk that I am going to have to take. The last class of my day today is the first math class that I have taken in three and half years. It was ridiculously hard for me to even FIND the class... its like Liberty and I are equally against me taking this class. It was in a huge cubicle-y class room in the very back of the last room in the computer lab (in the underground railroad.) and it took me 15 minutes to find it. I was one of the last people to walk into the cubicled class room and find a seat. We were all just like hanging out and talking until our professor walked in. He was pretty young. He introduced himself... in an authentic Australian accent. I have NEVER been one of those kids to have a crush on one of my teachers... for a few reasons.. some of them being:
I had way more female teachers than male teachers,
not including my 50 year old 5th grade teacher at Faith Academy Mr.Kuiken.
And I watched an episode of Law and Order about a teacher-student scandal when I was younger and EWWW.

So, this was very unusual for me. When he started talking, all of the girls around the cubicle looked at each other like- "OMG.... is this really happening right now?" He continued going over the syllabus and then on to his life story. He grew up in a Christian home- check. He moved around a bunch when he was younger- check. His family lived in the Philippines as missionaries for a little while- SERIOUSLY??! check! and then he moved to Liberty after grad school and met his cross country trainer wife- dream squandered, but good for him (I guess.)
Then he stepped out from the podium and BAM- he was wearing those shoelaceless man sandal sketchers. Shoes tell so much about a person... and those stretchy sketchers ruined a perfectly fine australian accent.
